We re-tell the story of the Wallach brothers to explore the meaning of belonging and home.

And we explore what can be learnt from the legacy of the Wallach’s now?

How can their story help open up space for conversation; about belonging, about shared commemoration, about the past’s impact on our present?

We collaborate with public institutions and socially engaged artists and use the Wallach textiles and folk art to encourage different perspectives to meet, for stories to be shared, and for the social practice of remembering together to be explored.

Public Programing

The Wallach Project is proud to collaborate with public institutions looking to further their creative and historic educational programming. We provide historic presentations on Wallach history, creative lineage, and the idea of belonging.

Arts Programing

Part of our mission is carrying the Wallach Brother’s vision into the modern day. Through block carving, collage making, game playing, and more – we invite participants to consider their own creative lineage. We ask: How are we influenced by our personal and collective histories? How can this show up through art?

School Programing

We believe that education is a crucial part of understanding our personal and collective histories. We partner with public schools to provide hands on workshops and curriculum development centered around displacement, loss, upheaval, and reclamation related to the Wallach family history and broader narrative of WWII.
